AI tools are evolving quickly, but tools alone don’t build an audience.

Strategy does.

Many creators experiment with AI video, generate a few clips, post them once, and then stop because the results weren’t immediate.

But if I were starting from zero today, I would approach xAI’s Grok Imagine very differently.

I would treat it as a content engine, not just a creative toy.

Here’s exactly how I would do it.

Step 1: Start with the idea

Everything begins with the idea.

Before opening any AI tool, I would ask one simple question:

What emotion or reaction do I want from the viewer?

Good hooks usually trigger something instantly:

  • curiosity

  • surprise

  • beauty

  • motivation

  • wonder

For example:

  • A celestial goddess appearing in daylight

  • A futuristic city floating above the ocean

  • A woman dancing in a retro 60s living room

  • A cyberpunk café scene during neon rain

The goal is to create a visual moment that stops the scroll.

Once the idea is clear, then the tool comes into play.

Step 2: Write a strong prompt

The prompt shapes everything.

Instead of writing something vague like:

“beautiful futuristic city”

I would structure the prompt with more visual guidance:

  • subject

  • environment

  • lighting

  • camera movement

  • mood

Example structure:

A futuristic floating city above a turquoise ocean at sunrise, glowing glass towers reflecting golden light, soft clouds drifting between buildings, cinematic lighting, slow aerial camera movement, ultra-detailed, epic atmosphere.

The more intentional the description, the stronger the result.

Step 3: Generate the first 10-second video

With Grok Imagine, the first clip is usually around 10 seconds.

This is where you focus on the visual hook.

Those first seconds are critical because they determine whether someone keeps watching.

Think of this first clip as the opening scene of a story.

If the opening is compelling, viewers will stay.

Step 4: Extend the scene

One of the most interesting features in Grok Imagine is the ability to extend the video from a frame.

Instead of stopping at 10 seconds, you can continue the scene with additional prompts.

For example:

First prompt:
A celestial goddess walking through golden clouds.

Extension prompt:
The camera slowly circles around her as sunlight reflects off her shimmering skin.

This creates a more immersive experience.

Instead of a short visual moment, you now have a mini cinematic sequence.

Step 5: Upload and label properly

When posting AI-generated content, transparency matters.

Platforms are increasingly introducing labels for AI-generated media.

When appropriate, use the “Made with AI” label.

This doesn’t weaken your content.

It simply signals honesty and builds trust with your audience.

AI is becoming part of the creative process for many creators, and transparency helps normalize that shift.

Step 6: Test Hooks

The real learning happens after publishing.

Instead of focusing only on the video itself, pay attention to the hook around it.

Different hooks can completely change how a post performs.

For example:

  • Sacred beauty exists on Grok Imagine.

  • What magic awaits with Grok Imagine’s extended video feature?

  • AI just created something unbelievable.

Same video. Different entry point.

Testing these variations helps you understand what resonates with your audience.

Step 7: Iterate the process

The most important step is repetition.

The first prompt might not be perfect.

The first clip might not go viral.

That’s normal.

The real advantage of AI tools like Grok Imagine is speed of experimentation.

You can quickly test:

  • new ideas

  • new prompts

  • new visual styles

  • new storytelling formats

Each iteration teaches you something.

And over time, patterns begin to emerge.

The bigger opportunity

AI video generation is still in its early stages.

Many creators are experimenting casually.

Few are building structured workflows.

But those who treat tools like Grok Imagine as part of a creative system will gain a major advantage.

Because the future of content creation will likely belong to creators who can combine:

human imagination + AI speed.

To summarize: if I were starting from zero today, that’s exactly how I would approach it.

Idea.
Prompt.
Video.
Extend.
Upload.
Test.
Repeat.

A simple loop.

But one that can produce extraordinary results over time.
